Handover of the Certificate for the Master Award and Honoring of the best 3 Graduates
Since this year’s Master prize winner Mr. Lukas Hatscher could not come to the short notice announced graduation ceremony at the Department of Biology, our speaker Prof. Dr. Falk Nimmerjahn now had the honor to personally hand over the certificate at the institute and to congratulate. Mr. Hatscher finished his studies at the end of September with the best possible grade 1.0. In his master thesis at the Department of Dermatology in the lab of Prof. Dr. Diana Dudziak, Lukas examined how specific dendritic cells survive acute inflammation to activate immune responses.
In parallel to his master’s studies, Lukas also studied medicine and graduated very successfully. After defending his medical doctoral thesis this spring, Lukas will join the research group of Prof. Dr. Gerhard Krönke at the Charite in Berlin, where he would like to pursue medical duties as well as research.
Together with Lukas Hatscher, Chiara Hornung also received congratulations for outstanding achievements in the Integrated Immunology program. Together with Emely Neumaier and Lukas Hatscher she was one of the 3 best iImmune graduates in 2022.
Chiara did her master thesis in Prof. Nimmerjahn’s lab and researched on the topic “Impact of IVIg variants, FcRn inhibitors and kinase inhibitors in autoimmunity in mice”.
We congratulate Emely, Lukas and Chiara on these extraordinary achievements and wish them all the best! Of course, we are proud to have them, as well as many other graduates, with us as alumni.
