Professor Elvira Mass was finally awarded the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Award
Our former iImmune Professor Elvira Mass was finally awarded the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Award, which she had already won in 2021. Due to the pandemic, the award ceremony was postponed and now took place on Monday, March 14, 2022 in Frankfurt.
We congratulate her once again and are pleased that she was able to receive this award alongside other well-known top-class scientists.
Mass obtained the Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Award for her groundbreaking work on the origin and role of tissue macrophages in organ development, leading to a better understanding about the role of immune cells in the context of developmental biology. We wish her all the best for her career as a W2/W3 professor at the University of Bonn.
